As Uganda prepares for the upcoming Local Council elections, voters are being encouraged to actively participate in choosing leaders who will drive development and improve service delivery at the grassroots.
The campaign message, “Your village, your voice, your vote. Let’s build stronger communities together by choosing leaders committed to progress. #VoteYellow,” emphasizes the importance of every citizen’s vote in determining the future of their village.
Supporters of the campaign say the elections provide an opportunity for communities to elect leaders who will champion development, promote unity, and address local challenges such as infrastructure, security, education, and household incomes.
The message also calls on residents to turn up in large numbers on polling day and peacefully exercise their democratic right, noting that strong local leadership is essential for sustainable community transformation.
As campaigns intensify across the country, political actors continue to urge voters to make informed choices, arguing that effective village leadership lays the foundation for national development.
