The Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, has appointed His Excellency Most Rev. Tomasz Grysa as the new Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda.
Until his appointment as Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda, Archbishop Grysa served as Apostolic Nuncio to Madagascar, Seychelles, and the Mauritius, as well as Apostolic Delegate to Comoros and La Réunion.
Born on 16 October 1970 in Poznań, Tomasz Grysa was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Poznań on 25 May 1995.
The new Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda holds a doctorate in Canon Law. He entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See on 1 July 2001 and has served in various Pontifical Representations, including the Russian Federation, India, Belgium, Mexico, Brazil, the Permanent Mission of the Holy See to the United Nations in New York, Israel, and the Apostolic Delegation in Jerusalem and Palestine.
On 27 September 2022, he was appointed Apostolic Nuncio to Madagascar and Apostolic Delegate to Comoros and La Réunion. He was subsequently appointed Apostolic Nuncio to the Seychelles on 9 February 2023 and to Mauritius on 21 March 2023.
In addition to Polish, Archbishop Grysa speaks Italian, French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian.
