UGANA AVIATION ACADEMY AND NAKASERO BLOOD BANK CALLS FOR MORE BLOOD DONATIONS
Nakasero Blood Bank has raised concern over the shortage of blood in health facilities, calling on Ugandans to donate blood to help save the lives of patients, especially those involved in accidents.
The blood bank says it currently needs more blood supplies to respond to the growing demand from hospitals across the country.
The call was made in Kampala during a blood donation drive at uganda Aviation academy aimed at encouraging different institutions to support the national blood supply by donating blood from their staff.
Uganda Aviation Academy for various occasions have been organising blood donation with uganda blood Bank to ensure blood sustainability in blood Bank to help those in need.
For past three month uganda has experienced several accidents on roads which has increased the demand of blood in govt hospitals, this has prompted uganda Aviation Academy to start an initiative with uganda blood Bank of giving out bloods to save lives
According to Lubanzo Duncan, who is coordinating the initiative from Nakasero Blood Bank, the current blood stocks are worrying, and more Ugandans are needed to come forward and donate.

He appealed to citizens to donate blood in large numbers to help patients in need and prevent avoidable deaths caused by blood shortages.
Lubanzo also commended the Uganda Aviation Academy for responding to the call and donating blood in large numbers. He encouraged other institutions to follow the example and organize similar blood donation drives.
Meanwhile, Esther Kikulwe Yapkoreny from the Uganda Aviation Academy urged Ugandans to come forward and donate blood, saying their contribution can help save patients who are sick or have suffered emergencies.
Employees at the institution also participated in the blood donation exercise, explaining that they chose to donate as a way of supporting patients in need and saving lives.
