Hon. Desire Muhooza, the Woman Member of Parliament for Kiboga District and Minister of State for Agriculture-designate, has arrived at Parliament for vetting by the Appointments Committee.
Muhooza is expected to present her credentials and outline her vision for the agriculture sector as lawmakers assess her suitability for the ministerial position.
The vetting process forms part of the constitutional procedure required before presidential appointees can assume office.
If approved, Muhooza will serve in a sector that remains the backbone of Uganda’s economy, supporting millions of households through farming, livestock production, and agribusiness.
Her appearance before the committee comes at a time when government is intensifying efforts to boost agricultural productivity, improve farmers’ incomes, and promote value addition across the country.
The committee’s recommendations will be submitted for consideration as the appointment process progresses.
