The National Drug Authority (NDA) has conducted an enforcement operation at Grina Medicinal Foods Limited located in busega Kibumbiro Kampala, where several suspected unauthorized herbal products and production materials were recovered.
During the operation, two people were arrested, including the proprietor of the facility, Ssendegeya Marvin, and the company manager.

The suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue and they await to be produced before court.
According to the National Drug Authority, preliminary findings indicate that Ssendegeya and others were allegedly involved in the production and distribution of herbal medicines and toothpaste products without approval from the Authority.

Among the items retrieved during the operation were various herbal products, including sexual powder booster, lemon cough drink, pomegranate fermented blend marketed as menstrual ease, Sika secret oil, Ulcer Go products, antiseptic mouth rinse, Lady Secret finger millet products, digestive cleanser, and Albizia powder.

The enforcement team also recovered an unknown liquid product stored in two 10-litre jerrycans, an electric mixer, a heat gun, printed product labels, packaging materials, and patient information leaflets linked to some of the products.

The recovered materials included labels for Digestive Cleanser, Grina Lady’s Secret, Grina Ulcer Go packaging materials, Grina Brain Booster Tea packaging materials, and Ulcer Go leaflets.
The National Drug Authority says the operation is part of ongoing efforts to protect the public from potentially unsafe medicines and ensure that all health products on the market meet required safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

The Authority has warned manufacturers and distributors against producing or selling medicines without proper authorization, noting that such practices endanger public health.
