President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has officially sworn in Uganda’s newly appointed Cabinet ministers and Ministers of State during a ceremony held at State House Entebbe, marking the start of a new government administration.
A total of 78 members of the executive took the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Minister, committing themselves to uphold the Constitution and faithfully serve the people of Uganda.
Speaking shortly after the ceremony, President Museveni congratulated the ministers on their appointments and wished them success in their new roles.
Among those sworn in were Vice President Jessica Alupo, Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja, and several Cabinet ministers tasked with leading key government sectors.
The Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet, Lucy Nakyobe Mbonye, reminded the ministers that the oath is a solemn commitment to serve with integrity, patriotism, diligence, and humility. She urged them to put national interests above personal interests and work closely with the public service to deliver government programs.
Nakyobe also announced an induction training for the new ministers at the National Leadership Institute Kyankwanzi from June 14th to 23rd to equip them with knowledge on Cabinet procedures, government systems, and policy implementation.
The swearing-in follows Parliament’s approval of the new Cabinet last week. Five appointed ministers were absent from the ceremony, with one reported to be indisposed.
The event was attended by senior government officials, judicial leaders, security chiefs, and families of the newly sworn-in ministers.
