As Muslims across the country prepare to celebrate Eid Al Adha, the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) has intensified its outreach to vulnerable communities through food relief and empowerment support.
The ONC Manager and Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs, Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, donated assorted food items and a bull to Muslims at Al Albaan Islamic Primary School, Masjid Noor in Kawaala, in a gesture aimed at supporting underprivileged families ahead of the religious celebrations.
The donation was received by Muslim women and local leaders who described the support as timely, especially during a period when many families are struggling with the high cost of living.
Speaking during the handover, Namyalo said the support was a direct contribution from Yoweri Kaguta Museveni through the Office of the National Chairman, emphasizing that the President remains committed to supporting ordinary Ugandans during important religious and cultural occasions.
She said Eid Al Adha should serve as a moment of unity, love and reflection among Muslim families and urged communities to promote peace and discipline during the celebrations.
Namyalo also used the occasion to reaffirm ONC’s commitment to poverty eradication and household empowerment, revealing that the office would soon resume nationwide empowerment campaigns targeting women, youth and vulnerable groups after the Eid festivities.
According to Namyalo, the programmes are intended to help communities improve household incomes and create sustainable livelihoods in line with the government’s wealth creation agenda.
Muslim women at Masjid Noor welcomed the donation and praised both President Museveni and Namyalo for continuously reaching out to grassroots communities.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Hajjat Mariam Bashir said the support would help many families celebrate Eid with dignity and hope.
She commended Namyalo for what she described as consistent mobilisation and empowerment programmes that continue to impact women and youth across different communities.
The donation is part of ONC’s ongoing nationwide outreach initiatives aimed at strengthening community welfare and extending support to vulnerable groups across the country.
