As Uganda celebrates the birthday of the Chief Muzzukulu and Manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, many supporters and beneficiaries are reflecting on the impact she has made through youth empowerment and political mobilization across the country.

Hajjat Namyalo, popularly known as the “Lion Lady,” is credited by many NRM supporters for revitalizing grassroots mobilization and giving hope to vulnerable communities. When she assumed leadership at the Office of the National Chairman, supporters say the office had limited visibility and community engagement. Through determination and commitment, she reportedly built strong networks and mobilized support from well-wishers and influential friends to extend assistance to ordinary Ugandans.

In 2023, Namyalo intensified empowerment campaigns targeting youths, women, and disadvantaged groups including commercial sex workers. Through these initiatives, many beneficiaries received tools and equipment aimed at helping them start income-generating activities. Items distributed included sewing machines, salon equipment, hair dryers, and agricultural tools such as hoes.

The empowerment drives, according to supporters, helped many Ugandans improve their livelihoods and transition into the money economy. Her outreach programs also strengthened support for the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), especially among young people who had previously distanced themselves from politics.

In 2024, Hajjat Namyalo launched the now-famous “Muzeeyi Tova Ku Main” slogan, a campaign that called upon President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to contest again in the 2026 presidential elections. The slogan quickly gained popularity across Uganda and became a major rallying message among NRM supporters.

Political observers and supporters alike believe that the mobilization efforts spearheaded by Namyalo contributed significantly to strengthening support for President Museveni ahead of the elections. Throughout various public engagements, President Museveni has repeatedly applauded Hajjat Namyalo for reconnecting the NRM with the “Bazukulu” and grassroots communities.

As she marks another year today, many supporters describe Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo as an influential figure in community mobilization, youth empowerment, and strengthening political participation at local levels.

In celebration of her birthday, supporters have praised her dedication and contribution toward improving livelihoods and promoting socio-economic transformation in Uganda.
